The President Calls Families of Shot Military Personnel to the White House

Former President Donald Trump stated on Sunday that he has extended an invitation the relatives of a National Guard member tragically killed last week to attend the presidential home.

He mentioned that he spoke to her parents and they were “heartbroken”.

Details on the Tragic Shooting

Soldier Sarah Beckstrom, twenty years old, was killed in a shooting on last Wednesday in the nation's capital.

Her comrade, Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, remains hospitalized in serious condition.

Vigils across West Virginia have been held in their honor.

White House Offer

The president explained he’s discussed a White House visit for the loved ones of both members of the West Virginia Guard.

“I stated: ‘When you’re prepared, because that’s a tough thing, arrive at the White House. We’re going to recognize her,” Trump addressed journalists. “And likewise with him, recover or not.”

Community Support

Attendees gathered over the weekend at the high school in the state to honor Sarah.

Both she and Wolfe had been fulfilling duties with the West Virginia National Guard as part of the president’s national effort to aid policing efforts in Washington DC.

Honoring Sarah Beckstrom

“Sarah was the type of pupil that teachers wished for. She conducted herself with quiet strength, a warm expression and a optimistic attitude that encouraged people around her,” the principal, the head of her former high school, informed the Associated Press. “She was caring, compassionate and always eager to support those in need.”

Funeral details for Sarah are yet to be finalized.

Judicial Measures and Government Adjustments

Law enforcement have indicted a twenty-nine-year-old suspect with a charge of murder and two counts of attempted murder while armed.

The event prompted the government to suspend asylum applications and temporarily stop granting entry permits to owners of Afghan passports.

Condition of the Airman

The airman, a resident of Martinsburg, enlisted in 2019 and is a graduate of Musselman high school, according to the news agency.

He is still undergoing care and is “battling to survive”, West Virginia leader Morrisey stated on Fox News Channel’s The Sunday Briefing.

The state’s top lawyer the attorney general informed Fox News Sunday that she also intended to meet with his relatives.

Impact of Beckstrom

Sarah, from her hometown, graduated from her high school in 2023 and began her service not long after, serving as a MP with honor, as stated by the West Virginia National Guard.

“She had a lot of kindness and she certainly had courage,” Morrisey informed the crowd at the service. “Though her time was cut short, she has left a mark that’s going to be remembered always.”
