That Gory Animated Movie Ending That Haunts Viewers

Among all the mature cartoon movies I have personally viewed, nothing has remained with me quite like the fear-filled conclusion of a graphically gory as well as deeply subversive 2022 movie The Unicorn Wars.

Back in the year 2015, this Spain-based filmmaker crafted a grim, melancholy and frequently brutal world with several minor , forlorn hints of optimism.

While Unicorn Wars feels like it stemmed from an impulse to push the medium further, the filmmaker clarified that it was more a try to convey a widespread, multicultural message about “the mutual source of each battle.”

This theme is conveyed through a squad of colorful pastel bears , clearly inspired by a well-known series of lovable figures.

Maturing in a community built around militarism as well as the defense industry, many of the bears are consumed by killing unicorns, thanks to a holy book which states the bears they used to be kings of the woodland, until these creatures drove them out.

A few haven’t fully fallen for the indoctrination, , would rather try out drugs and fornicate in the woods.

Unlike their friendly counterparts, these colorful critters display sexual organs , definite libidos.

For a certain especially vicious, pessimistic creature, the character Bluey, the war with the unicorns becomes a route to control — and especially to authority above his more tender, kinder brother the bear Tubby.

The character behaves aggressively and an apparent psychopath , and when terror overcomes his squad and takes his teammates individually, he seizes progressively power personally, in increasingly violent, damaging approaches.

Meanwhile, the horned creatures are suffering their own terror, in the form of a growing, harmful creature in their woods.

“Initially, it seems like a lighthearted film,” the director stated. “Yet it becomes a more dramatic and melancholic film. And in the finale, it becomes a scary feature.”

Unicorn Wars commences similar to one of the most whimsical features by an iconic animator, that discover a wicked pleasure in allowing drawn beings swear, fire weapons, or have intimate relations.

Afterward it turns into something more like a darker movie from the same artist, with increasingly graphic violence , a noticeable relation to the actual horror of battle.

Ultimately, it is a complete theatrical horror massacre.

The fear that turns this a perfect Halloween viewing starts much sooner than indicated.

The Unicorn Wars is suited for the devoted lovers of violence, for lovers of extreme cinema who desire to watch a film they have not viewed until now, and who can handle a plot that offers absolutely no punches.

See it in a dimly lit space without any distractions, and that ending will burrow into your mind and stay with you.
