Soccer Analyst Chris Sutton Battles Artist Murs in Top Flight Forecasts
Arsenal's 10-game winning streak was ended by the Black Cats prior to the global hiatus, but will the English top division leaders bounce back against north London rivals Spurs this Sunday?
"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this game," stated football specialist Chris Sutton.
"The Spurs manager will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still manage to win."
Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this term, against AI, fans and a variety of guests.
For the twelfth round, he takes on singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United fan.
Murs' new album, the new release, is out on Friday.
Football and Parenting Life
Olly is a skilled footballer as well as a accomplished artist and has been a featured player of multiple charity football matches down the years - but he is not intending a serious comeback as a player.
"{I recently played in a charity game the other night for a mate of mine," he said. "The team was trailing 3-1 when I came off in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you want!
"I continue to love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it even now isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too risky for me in my profession to do it properly again.
"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am preparing for the moment that my daughter or son decides to play instead."
The singer and his wife his partner have two children, their daughter and Albert, and he is ready to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their manager.
"I will not push football on our kids but I've already told Amelia that if they do get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will probably be managing their weekend soccer team," he said.
"I observed my relatives play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I clearly owned a football club for a while too.
"My father did it with us when I was a child, which is probably where I get it from. He managed our side for several years and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am excited to it!"
Premier League Forecasts
Weekend, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
Chelsea may have to wait a bit longer for their star's return from fitness issues but their offense is now stronger with Joao Pedro and Delap both returned to fitness.
I still think this game will be fairly tight, though. Burnley are disciplined and their sole at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against Liverpool and the Gunners.
This suggests a 1-1 draw to me, but I am actually going to go with Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.
The expert's forecast: 1-2
The singer's prediction: The Blues will be superior. 1-3
Artificial intelligence's outlook: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Cherries have lost their past two matches - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got absolutely spanked by Villa last time out which shocked me.
On the other hand, the Hammers won back-to-back victories before the international break and, although both of those games were at home, they appear strong again.
West Ham's sole away victory this campaign came at Forest in the summer, when their boss Nuno Espirito Santo was previously that team's coach.
Therefore, what exactly do I go with here - can West Ham continuing their run under their manager, or Bournemouth responding?
I will choose the Cherries, because I believe what occurred against Aston Villa was a anomaly.
Sutton's forecast: 2-0
The guest's prediction: Bournemouth are doing well but West Ham have picked up under their boss. 2-2
The algorithm's pick: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Bees were seen as one of the frontrunners for relegation before the season started, but they have surprised a few people under their manager and are in good form with three wins in their past four games.
A family member advised me to get Bees forward Thiago in my fantasy soccer team a few weeks ago and, guess what, I ignored the advice.
Thiago will probably score again on the weekend but I am still not going to pick him or back the away side at Amex Stadium.
The Bees have not had great fortune on the travel this season, and the Seagulls are always strong at home. The visitors will try to hit them on the counter-attack but I feel the home manager's team pose much more of a danger.
The analyst's forecast: 2-1
The singer's prediction: This could be one of those games where you expect there is going to be a many goals but it actually turns out to be rather tight. 1-1
The computer's prediction: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
It is a massive game for the Cottagers, who have suffered defeat in five of their past six games.
Fulham have have lots of quality in their team but it still seems like they could be sucked into a drop zone fight.
As for the Black Cats, indeed they are the unexpected success of the Premier League season so far.
Their performance in the two-all draw with the Gunners last time out was superb. We've not witnessed anyone else disrupt the North London side like that this season, and they were fully competitive for them.
The logical choice would be to back the Black Cats here, because they are clearly able of roughing the hosts up too and, the previous occasion they were in this part of London, they beat Chelsea at the close of last month.
But I am not choose that. Rather, I truly need to carry on going against Sunderland with my predictions. I am taking a lot of responsibility for their good results because they clearly love to defy my predictions.
Considering the home side's at Craven Cottage record, the only team they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Marco Silva's side will be extremely desperate for a positive result, so I am going to say they will secure three much-needed points.
The expert's prediction: 1-0
Olly's choice: I know the visitors are doing well and additionally that Fulham are on a poor run... but Fulham have nonetheless been respectable at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0
The algorithm's outlook: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
It is a hard one to call. Liverpool have suffered seven of their past 10 matches in every tournament, but could they be among the teams who profit from the {international break|
