Real Madrid brought in Trent Alexander-Arnold on a long-term contract

The defender's rehabilitation is advancing well, giving possibility that the Real Madrid defender could be fit in time to play against his previous club Liverpool in November's Champions League match.

The English player experienced a hamstring injury during a match against Ligue 1 side Marseille in the initial phase of the tournament on September 16.

Alexander-Arnold was forced off the field in the fifth minute, with initial reports indicating a potential layoff of up to a month and a half.

Real Madrid are set to play at Liverpool on 4 November for the Champions League fixture—precisely over a month since the incident happened.

Reports familiar with the situation indicate that the defender's recovery is progressing favorably, and there is expectation that Alexander-Arnold may make his first comeback to Anfield since moving to Real Madrid in June.

A longtime Liverpool supporter, Alexander-Arnold earlier said that departing from the club he joined as a young youth player was the "toughest choice he's ever made."

During his time with the Merseyside club, Alexander-Arnold notched 354 games, helping win multiple English top-flight titles, a Champions League, and the FA Cup.

Since his transfer to Madrid, Alexander-Arnold has featured five times in all competitions, accumulating 156 minutes of playing time.
