The boxing world has been a notable downturn this season, with few major fights and far less compelling bouts than usual. The anticipation of a high-stakes and fascinating heavyweight clash between Parker and Wardley at the O₂ Arena provides some solace to the challenged industry. Parker, who turns 34 in January, said: “It's win or go home. I am not considering defeat. I honor my adversary and his accomplishments and the way he's trained for this contest. But I am on a higher plane and I am intending to prove it on fight night.”

Wardley's Stance

Wardley will be 31 in December, and he said: “It is a massive night for the pair of us. It is obviously the biggest fight of my boxing journey and the greatest challenge I've faced. But every time I step up I excel under pressure. This Saturday will be no exception. The gap between Parker's level and where people think I am has been a common theme throughout my career.

“He has vast experience for a extended duration, with a numerous contests on his resume.
