Beloved Actor The actor Pat Finn, Known For Appearances in Seinfeld and The Middle, Passes Away at the Age of Sixty.
American performer Finn, who featured in beloved television series including Friends, Seinfeld and "The Middle", has succumbed aged 60.
The comedy and improvisation performer succumbed at his home in Los Angeles, California on Monday having undergone treatment for a cancer diagnosis since 2022, per reports.
"Pat Finn never met a stranger - only friends he had yet to meet," his loved ones stated in a statement.
They added that he had "lived his life fully - with zest and passion".
A Prolific Career on Screen
His initial on-screen part was on the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he played the titular character's brother.
He subsequently landed a recurring role on Murphy Brown between 1995 and 1997.
He appeared as the character Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in the late 90s, playing a party host who would assign burdensome jobs to his guests.
In the 90s and 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on a variety of well-known programs, such as:
- The King of Queens
- Friends
- "That '70s Show"
- "House"
His most famous role for playing Bill Norwood in "The Middle", starring in eight series over nearly a decade.
His cinematic roles encompass It's Complicated and "Santa Paws 2".
A Life in Improv
Outside of his on-screen roles, Finn was a skilled improviser and worked as a teacher at the Colorado university, where he was an adjunct professor.
He was involved with a six-member improv team called Beer Shark Mice.
"He guided, supported, and advised many learners throughout the years and it would be difficult to find someone anywhere who has a bad thing to say about him," his loved ones expressed.
Offering condolences, peer actor Richard Kind said there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, grounded individual you could encounter".
"Perpetually optimistic, helping you be funnier and better. A great dad, a great guy," Kind wrote on social media.
Pat Finn is survived by his spouse Donna, three children, and his family.
